The Old Coach House, Eastcombe

Converted into a private dwelling in 1989, was originally built as the stabling and coach house for the local doctor in 1864.

When they bought it in 2010, Rachel and Stephen Wright immediately saw its potential as a small, high quality “B&B” facility [rated Four Stars, Silver Award and Breakfast Award by Visit Britain Quality in Tourism standards] in this glorious part of the Gloucestershire Cotswolds. Since they opened for business in April 2011, visitors have consistently rated the accommodation, facilities and service as “5 for excellent” one visitor going so far as to add a new rating “6 – outstanding!”.

Eastcombe

Set within the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty it is only four miles from the busy market town of Stroud with its award winning weekly Farmers’ Market every Saturday, and the delightful Market town of Nailsworth with its individual, independent shops.  Eastcombe is also within easy reach of the historic Roman town of Cirencester, Cheltenham with its the shopping, theatres and restaurants and the ancient inland port of Gloucester with its exquisite Norman Cathedral, historic docks with visiting sailing ships and new shopping outlet.

Things to do, places to visit.

Eastcombe itself is set beside the beautiful Toadsmoor valley, with good local walks, and is a perfect centre for exploring the wider Cotswolds from Chipping Campden in the north to Bath in the south. Among the nearby attractions are the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust at Slimbridge, the famous Cotswold Farm Park at Guiting Power and Berkeley Castle - whose dungeons are a must for young visitors! The Westonbirt Arboretum is just ten miles down the road with all its glorious autumn colours and events which include the Autumn Bank Holiday “Festival of Wood” and the magical floodlit Winter Wonderland.

For equestrian enthusiasts there is the added benefit of the Cheltenham National Hunt Racecourse - and Badminton and Gatcombe Horse trials are nearby.

“Everything of exceptional quality. Wonderful hospitality – we will recommend you!”
Mr “D” of Amersham, Bucks.
